澳门大学将为植树节举办树木奉献和教育计划
正规赌博平台 will host a tree dedication and educational program on Thursday, April 28, in observance of Arbor Day.
The hour-long program will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Centennial Clock Tower on the 蒙蒂塞洛 campus. A host of experts from the 正规赌博平台 College of Forestry, Agriculture and Natural Resources (CFANR) and the Forestry Division of the Arkansas Department of Agriculture will speak during the program.
正规赌博平台校长Peggy Doss博士将阐述正规赌博平台对美国树校园的承诺。 Dr. Pradip Saud, assistant professor in the 正规赌博平台 CFANR, will present on the value of urban trees for communities, and Kristine Kimbro of the Forestry Division will speak about the urban tree grant program available through the Forestry Division of the Arkansas Department of Agriculture. Dr. Mohammad Bataineh, associate professor in the 正规赌博平台 CFANR, will discuss common tree health issues in urban versus natural environments.
During the tree planting, Dr. Lynne Thompson, a retired professor from the 正规赌博平台 CFANR, Dr. Michael Blazier, dean of the 正规赌博平台 CFANR, Harold Fisher of the Forestry Division and students enrolled in the 正规赌博平台 silviculture class will demonstrate how to select a tree species and site, how to score tree roots and how to plant, mulch and stake a tree. They will also cover post-planting tree care, such as watering, pruning and fertilization.
Food will be served during the program, and interested parties are invited to join the 正规赌博平台 silviculture class after the ceremony to plant two additional trees on campus.

There are five core standards for effective campus forest management which include the establishment of a campus tree advisory committee, evidence of a campus tree care plan, dedicated annual expenditures for the campus tree program, an Arbor Day observance and the sponsorship of student service-learning projects.
