学生 with disabilities may receive test accommodations determined on an individual basis. "Test" as used in this context, refers to quizzes 和 examinations taken during the semester in conjunction with an academic class.
学生 should discuss their specific needs for testing accommodations (e.g., extended time, separate location, use of computer) with the Office of 学生特别服务 before or within the first two weeks of each semester.
If the need for accommodation is documented by a licensed professional 和 deemed appropriate, the Office of 学生特别服务 will generate an electronic letter to each instructor.
学生 are responsible for meeting with instructors to discuss exam considerations at the beginning of the semester. Preferably, instructors of the academic department will administer the test accommodations. If this is not possible, the Office of Student Special Services will administer 和/or proctor examinations.
Reasonable accommodations depend upon the nature 和 degree of severity of the documented disability. While the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 requires that priority consideration be given to the specific methods requested by the student, it does not imply that a particular accommodation must be granted if it is deemed not reasonable 和 other suitable techniques are available.
根据个人情况而定的考试安排可能包括:
- 延长完成考试和测验的时间
- 一个没有干扰的测试地点
- 特殊设备,如电脑、放大镜或盲文机
- 读者和抄写员
- 其他形式,如口语或磁带测试
